Goggle Optics is a full service laboratory and has been selling frames and lenses to the optical industry for the past 27 years. We have decided to forgo all the legalities associated with online purchasing sites (like complex terms and conditions you can’t even comprehend) and have combined all the FAQ’s, Terms and Conditions, Policies and Procedures, Terms of Use into this simple Help Center.

We want your purchase to be enjoyable, informed, simple and most of all inexpensive whilst providing you with quality frames and lenses.

No we sell only single vision lenses due to the many measurements required with bifocals and multifocals.

No as there are many different colour shades and multiple degrees of intensity. We are try to keep our site as simple as possible. Please consider photochromic lenses if you are looking for lenses that darken outdoors and are clear indoors.

White:
Basic white lenses with no coatings

Anti Reflective Coatings (100% UV Protection):
Thinner white lens with a coating to reduce reflections.

1.61 Extra Thin + A/R (100% UV Protection) :An extra thin white lens for medium prescriptions with a coating to reduce reflections.

1.67 Ultra Thin + A/R (100% UV Protection) :
An ultra thin white lens for high prescriptions with a coating to reduce reflections.

Photochromic (100% UV Protection) :
A white lens which adapts to light conditions from white indoors to a dark grey outdoors.

Photochromic + A/R (100% UV Protection) :
A white lens which adapts to light conditions from white indoors to a dark grey outdoors with a coating to reduce reflections.

Blue Control + A/R (100% UV Protection) :
A white lens with a blue anti reflect coating which blocks the harmful blue light emitted from digital equipment like computers and cell phones.

It is the measurement of the distance between your pupils and is required to center your lenses for optimal visual acuity. Please ensure that your prescription has your PD measurement.

If your prescription has been sent to you via email simply forward the email directly to info@goggleoptics.co.za after you have completed your purchase in order for us to match your prescription to your order.

If your prescription has been sent to you via email simply save it in a file on your computer like Desktop or Documents. When you click on the upload prescription (during your purchase) it will take you to the files section of your computer. Go to the file where you saved it on your computer and click on Open and your file is uploaded.

RETURNING MERCHANDISE

When Goggle Optics first started out we had a totally free return policy as well as a no limit policy to the number of exchanges. However our competitors were buying frames and expensive lenses and returning them for refunds and exchanges so we were compelled to implement a few changes as underlined below.

Goggle Optics want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied the costs to return the goods are for your account and in the case of exchanges there is a one time exchange and only the shipping cost to return the new frame to you is on us.

You have 45 days from original receipt date for Goggle Optics to return your merchandise for a full refund or exchange. We can’t refund you for glasses damaged beyond normal wear and tear. You must return all products in the original frame case. All refunds will be credited to your original payment method. It may take up to 5 business days from the time we process your return for you to receive the credit.

Goggle Optics is not responsible for any returned products damaged in transit due to the choice of packaging. We recommend shipping product back in a box.

If you are not satisfied with your frame and would like to exchange for another frame, we can help you with a one-time exchange. Your new frame just needs to be of equal or lesser value. If you have a higher cost frame in mind, please contact us to resolve your request.

FRAME WARRANTY – one time replacement

All of our frames carry a 12 month warranty from receipt date against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship. In the unlikely event we will be more than happy to replace your defective frame. Defects exclude damage caused by, but are not limited to, customer abuse, normal wear and tear, alterations, cleaning chemicals (like acetone) and exposure to high temperatures.

LENS WARRANTY – one time replacement

All prescription lenses include a 12 month warranty from receipt date. The lens warranty covers scratches, chips, peeling and other defects. However the warranty only applies to the original purchased lenses and cannot be used for a different lens type.
